Super Bowl Sunday

Tonight was the Super Bowl of course. We had Uncle Steve and our great neighbors over and had a really good time. The girls played, ate way too many chips, did crafts, and thoroughly enjoyed the halftime show. Well, except that Cora is totally disturbed by "That girlie (Madonna) jumping into the fire." Now they are in bed WAY too late (10:30 - eek!) and I'm going to get there myself!

Forty years in the desert

The first words out of Cora's mouth this morning were "The Daddy Chuck E. Cheese's was so big! I was scared of him forty times in the party." The last thing on her mind every night is always the first thing on her lips in the morning. And she really cracks me up with using the number 40 lately. The other day in the grocery store she yelled out "FORTY YEARS IN THE DESERT!" We listen to a lot of bible stories...
I only had a few minutes with the girls before I went to work this morning but I hear they had a pretty fantastic day. Daddy made them lots of yummy foods and Nana and Pee Paw came to play for the afternoon. This evening we watched "Tangled" for the 50th time and Cora quoted Mother Gothel for the rest of the night.
Unfortunately I don't have any pictures from today but I do have a little quote from Leyna from the other day:

Leyna: "I'm really interested in math. I can't wait to go to high school."
Me: "Well, don't grow up too fast."
Leyna: "I won't. That's really bad for your body."
:)

Chuck

Tonight we went to Chuck E. Cheese's for a birthday party. It was our first time there and it was both fun and terrifying. Unfortunately we got to meet "Chuck" as soon as we walked in the door. Both girls had a death grip on me and wanted him to go away as soon as possible. Then we went to the birthday area where we got to sit right next to the robotic version of "Chuck." Even better!
Eventually they mostly settled in and enjoyed the games. And I'll admit I spent most of my time trying to make sure they didn't put their hands in their mouths.
The girls rode this roller coaster ride at least 7 times in a row. It was SO cute.
At the end of the night the girls traded in their tickets for bracelets and purple stretchy lizards. And then made us promise they could come back and see the big scary rat again ;)

Making the most of Groundhog Day

Of course we had to take advantage of a reason to celebrate today. Happy Groundhog Day everyone!
We started the day off with Groundhog Pancakes:
Then we hit up the library for story time...
and after naps we did a little craft:
We topped it all off with some Groundhog Poo for snack!
Cora was a little skeptical...
but then she decided she loves Groundhog Poo! Hooray! :)
