Happy St. Patrick's Day & A New Record

Sorry I don't have any pictures of Leyna and Cora from to day - just two little leprechauns!
We didn't really do anything too festive besides wear green, color this little mask, and eat a green lunch. What IS exciting is that Leyna has set a new sleep record. She has slept in her bed all night without a peep for FIVE nights in a row!!! Amazing. I didn't want to write it on here and jinx myself but I have to record this for her. I cut her naps out last Friday because she was having so much trouble settling down for them and then for bed time at night. I also pushed bedtime back for both girls by a half hour in preparation for summer nights of playing outside late into the evening. So far it's been great! They're miraculously sleeping through the night AND sleeping later in the morning. I love sleep. Except for all the dreams I've been having - I think I've been catching up on years of not dreaming all in the past five nights!
Anyway, keep it up girls!!!

Cookies and such

Today we did a little bit of this and a little bit of that. The best part was that Nana came over and made St. Patrick's Day cookies with us! (You can find the recipe here)
I also did some Spring cleaning which involved moving the furniture and creating a very fun cave/fort/ship/castle for my bears/mermaids/princesses. We got a lot of mileage out of this one!
And the girls finalized their day with some P90X. Good stuff :)

Funny stuff

I've been writing down funny things the girls have been saying over the past week and I think it's time to share :)
Leyna
1. Leyna said to me one night walking up the stairs to bed: "When I grow up I'LL go to college. AND I'll have spines!" ("spines" are what she calls my leg hairs - glad she's excited about them!)
2. One morning I told Leyna her breakfast was ready and she needed to come to the table right now. She replied, "I can't right now. I'm working on my latest invention."
3. We were talking about tow trucks one morning and what they do. Way later that afternoon Leyna made her own joke and said "Glad it's not a Run over Tow (Toe) Truck!" Haha!
4. And now the least funny thing Leyna said last week: "Mommy, you look like you have a baby in your tummy." Thanks a lot...
Here she is helping me start some seeds for our garden this afternoon...

Cora
1. Cora is very interested in airplanes right now and I've been telling her about helicopters too. She calls them "Hello Doctors"
2. She insists on walking down the stairs alike an adult now and I always tell her to be careful. Whenever I'm on the steps with her she tells me "Wuffle (careful) Mommy, wuffle."
3. And this isn't funny but I just have to record that she's putting five words together on a more and more regular basis these days. She shocked Daddy today when she pointed to the bookcase and said "Look, a picture of Mommy!"
And here's a picture I captured of Cora today. I love it because she still looks like a baby in it...

Somersaults

I'm so happy to report that the girls actually did sleep in today! I figured they'd veto the time change and wake us up as usual. Glad I was wrong. Cora slept until 6:45 and Leyna until 8! Here's hoping for (but not expecting) a repeat tomorrow!
Mommy and Daddy got to go out to brunch at an elite restaurant with some friends this afternoon and it was divine. The girls had a much less expensive, but equally fun time with Nana, Pee Paw, and Rudy.
This evening we just relaxed and the girls started brushing up on their Easter egg hunting skills. I hid eggs around the house and they had a ball finding them over and over and over again. Cora also figured out how to do a somersault today and she went to town with her new skill. Super cute and entertaining!
