Disney World: Day 1

We woke up bright and early this morning to little princesses saying "I wanna go to Disney World!!!" and got back on the road for about 5 more hours of driving. The girls were decidedly less patient with the travel today and started saying "Are we there yet?" about 10 minutes in. Two movies got us through the drive and to our Caribbean Beach Resort.
"Disney World!!!"
Both girls received tiaras & stickers upon check-in. Bonus!
We grabbed a quick lunch at the food court, unloaded our things in the room and hopped  on the bus to Magic Kingdom.
Ready to go!
Cora loved riding the bus.
Leyna too!
Leyna decided to close her eyes when we went through the gate and not open them until we saw the castle :)
There it was in all it's glory!
The walkway through the castle. Love the look of amazement on Leyna's face.
At Cora's incessant request, our first ride was "It's a Small World After All." Leyna was super excited about every aspect of the ride, while Cora was more solemn, studious, and quietly thrilled. As soon as it was over she wanted to ride it again.
Waiting in line for Small World.
On the boat and ready to roll.
Look at that!
We convinced her to try the carousel instead. As soon as it was over she wanted to ride that again too. And she was none too happy to see another girl get on “her" horse, "Maximus."
Next we opted for Mickey's Philharmagic show. Leyna was SO excited for her first 3D experience and we got just as much entertainment from watching her as we did from the show itself. She was literally screaming, shrieking, and laughing, all the while reaching out to try to grab the things in front of her. It was absolutely hilarious. Cora enjoyed the calm parts and was a bit scared at tense parts. It's going to take some work to convince her everything here is safe.
Afterward we took another carousel ride and then hit up a princess dress-up shop. One of the employees there sprinkled the girls with fairy dust which was so cute. Leyna's scalp is now totally encrusted in glitter and I'm pretty sure she has enough fairy dust to last her the next year. She also left the store with her first souvenir, Mouse Ears from Nana :)
Fairy dusted.
Pretty Cinderella fountain photo op :)
Princess Minnie Mouse Ears. How cute!
Now it was time for a family-style dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. The girls did pretty well, with Cora inhaling 3 servings of mac n cheese!
The rest of the evening was spent doing Small World again, Peter Pan's Flight, playing on a playground, and riding the train. We also caught some fireworks which were really pretty but a bit too loud for Ms. Cora. By the end of it all Leyna was begging to go to bed. We hopped back on bus and both girls passed out cold, Leyna on Nana’s lap and Cora on mine. We transferred them to bed in their clothes with hardly a twitch. Can’t wait to surprise them again tomorrow morning with something REALLY BIG!
Random little playground under Splash Mountain. A great place to let the girls run and be free.
Rollin' on the Walt Disney World Express Train
Back on the bus and totally pooped :)
